It is with no doubt that digital marketing has brought about less expenses when it comes to political campaigns. Can you imagine the cost of over 1000 posters? The cost of billboards as well and many others. But thanks to the digital way of doing things which made everything easier, cheaper and even quicker. It only takes a sec for the EFF to upload a poster and zero cost of transportation. It also takes data only to share their information, goals and strategies to the public. Talk about safety of information? More than safe.
We have evolved from seeing the ANC members removed the EFF posters on the streets and putting theirs or vice versa. We have also evolved from seeing members of different parties fighting for spots in the communities to place their spots.
Social media spaces are becoming marketing tools for politicians, from creating social media pages, hashtags on Twitter and creating political party’s web pages, isn’t that growth? We have also evidenced online voting.
Really, digital technology is playing a huge role in the political space, and from here it can only be our way up as a country.
